Winter Weather Safeguarding
Road Safety and Safeguarding:
If you are driving your child to school, please
do not park on Thornhill
Road so this can be kept clear. Please,
especially, do not park opposite the school so buses can get
through and there is minimal car movement in the
area near our school grounds where children maybe
walking past.
Clothing
Please
would all children wear appropriate footwear (e.g. wellies or walking shoes) and bring a hat and gloves
(please could all items be named) as well as having
normal black school shoes to change into. Please try
to wear something light or reflective when coming to
or leaving school.
General Information
We
appreciate that some children who live in very rural
areas might not be able to get to school due to
heavy snow or poor conditions on the roads. If you
are ringing to report an absence, please would you
be able to do this after 10am or email
admin@pontelandcoates.northumberland.sch.uk.
Work is available on NoRTLE, maths work is available
for KS 3 on my maths.co.uk and revision work is
available for KS2 at bbc revisewise.
During this cold period, and in
the event of any emergency changes overnight, please
check
www.northumberland.gov.uk or listen to school
closure announcements on Radio Newcastle or the
school telephone message.
