Year 7 Catch-Up Premium

Year 7 Catch-up Premium

The literacy and numeracy catch-up premium is additional funding to support year 7 pupils who did not achieve the expected standard in reading or maths at the end of key stage 2.

How much money do we receive?

The total amount of Year 7 catch up funding the school received in 2015-16 was £3,000. This was based on 6 pupils who were eligible for the funding (£500 per pupil).

For the year 2016-17, schools will receive the same overall funding they received for the previous year, adjusted to reflect any change in the sixe of the year group.

How we spent the money 2015-16

The money was used to supplement the scheme of work for Maths and English, with resources sourced to specifically help to raise the progress of this group:
  • Key Stage 3 Progress in Maths (Pearson Publishing)
  • Key Stage 3 Reading Resources

How effective was the spending?
Data for the 6 pupils demonstrates they made good progress.

How do we plan to spend the money for 2016-17?
This year the funding will be used towards the cost of specific interventions, including highly focused group teaching sessions in the Autumn Term with objectives based upon analysis of KS2 SATs.
